The lifting of the main supporting part of the boom is provided by the main hydraulic cylinder. Two hydraulic cylinders connected to each other using a coupling are responsible for extending the second section.

Boom extension

A jib or extension is provided to increase the working space under the boom, as well as the height of the latter. In the KS-3577 truck crane, this element is made of rolled metal (angle) and is attached to the head of the retractable boom section using special brackets. The jib can be transported on the KS-3577 itself, attaching it next to the boom to its side plane.

Operator's room, truck crane rotary unit, lifting body

KS-3577 is a lifting system that operates hydraulically. The working bodies are driven by a hydraulic pump, which itself is connected through a box to the power take-off shaft of the vehicle. The crane operator can use a special lever in the cabin to disconnect the pump from the drive.

Platform rotation mechanism

The unit is made on the basis of a hydraulic motor, which is connected to a two-stage gearbox. There is also a shoe type brake and a hydraulic release. The output part of the gearbox has a gear on the shaft. The latter engages with the turning-support circle via a gear ring. The rotating part of the truck crane can be rotated manually using a handle. To do this, there is an intermediate shaft with a gear with a shank at the end.

Crane operator's cabin

The driver operating the KS-3577 truck crane is in a special cabin during lifting operations. All machine controls are located in this workroom. The cabin is equipped with lighting equipment, a cooling fan, and has spacious viewing windows. For work in winter period heating of the workplace is provided, the cabin body itself is thermally insulated.

Lifting mechanism

These cranes have rotating crane operator cabins, a telescopic boom (3-4 sections) with a hydraulic drive, which is powered by a vehicle chassis engine.

Extension of boom sections is carried out using a hydraulic cylinder and pulley blocks.

Cranes on the MAZ-5337 chassis are compact, the lifting height of the load is up to 25 m (with an additional jib).

Microprocessor load limiter ONK-160S with digital indication of crane loading parameters, boom radius and length, boom lift height and other data are displayed on the display. The actual size of the load on the hook and the possible lifting capacity for a given boom reach are also monitored.

In cramped conditions, you can automatically set the boundaries of the truck crane’s operating area. The “black box” (telemetric memory in the computer unit) records all operating characteristics and load during the operation of the crane.

The KS-3577 mobile crane, based on a 2-axle cargo chassis produced by the Minsk Automobile Plant, has been produced since 1984. The assembly is carried out at the production facilities of the truck crane plant located in the city of Ivanovo.

Device and purpose

The MAZ-5334 base chassis is equipped with a YaMZ-236 engine with a power of 180 hp. With. The car uses a 5-speed manual transmission. The rear axle is equipped with additional planetary gearboxes located in the wheel hubs. Due to this solution, it was possible to reduce the dimensions of the axle gearbox and expand the capabilities of the chassis.

To accommodate the crane installation components, a supporting platform is used, mounted on the rear of the chassis. The platform frame is welded from steel profiles of various sections. A turntable is installed on top, on which the crane boom is located, auxiliary equipment, cabin and counterweights.

To drive the winches and the rotation gearbox, a distribution module is used, which ensures reverse operation of the units. The winches and gearbox are driven by hydraulic motors. The boom angle is adjusted using hydraulic cylinders equipped with a hydraulic locking device. Hydraulics are used to change the length of the boom. Some crane models are equipped with a 3-section boom with a mechanical drive for extending the outer section.


The winch is equipped with a 2-speed gearbox. The unit is braked by a band brake equipped with a hydraulic release. A similar unit is used in the drive of the turning mechanism. If the hydraulics fail, the crane tower can be rotated manually using a special handle.

The hydraulic units of the crane are driven by a gear oil pump. The pump receives rotation from a cardan shaft attached to the output of the power take-off. The selection is carried out from the gearbox. The selection is activated by a separate lever located in the chassis cab. The supply of fluid required for hydraulic operation is located in a separate tank. All nodes of the system are connected by rigid or flexible highways.

The use of a sectional boom allows the machine to be used for loading or construction work in cramped conditions.

The telescopic boom provides equipment with the ability to maneuver in narrow passages between warehouses or buildings under construction.

The operator's workplace is located in a separate cabin. The instrument panel is equipped with indicators of the position of working parts and an alarm. The cabin is equipped with a ventilation unit with the ability to supply warm air. Next to the cabin there are crane mechanisms covered with a protective metal casing.

Specifications

The engine of the KS-3577 truck crane and the technical characteristics of the hydraulics provide a load landing speed of up to 10 m/min. The design of the extended boom with a jib allows for the lowering of loads weighing up to 4500 kg at speeds up to 20 m/min. During operation, the crane rests on adjustable outriggers equipped with hydraulic cylinders. The supports are located at the corners of the crane superstructure.

An important characteristic of the KS-3577 truck crane is the maximum lifting height of 14.5 m. The use of an extension element (jib) allows loading loads to a height of 20.5 m. The jib is a lattice metal section that is attached to the end of the boom. This extension is transported on the boom in a 180° position.

The technical characteristics of the KS-3577-3 crane differ from the base model in its lifting capacity, which is 14 tons. The increase in tonnage was achieved by increasing the size of the outriggers.


The KS-3577-2 modification is distinguished by the use of a MAZ-5337 chassis, equipped with a diesel engine with a turbocharger, as a base. Increased to 230 hp. power allows to reduce fuel consumption and provides increased speed of equipment up to 85 km/h.

The KS-3577-4 truck crane is equipped with special load grippers (instead of standard hooks on other modifications). Other machine parameters remained unchanged.

The KS-3577-3K Uglich machine has excellent parameters determined by its use as a base truck KamAZ-43253. The lifting capacity is 16 tons. The lifting system uses a microprocessor module that controls the boom operating parameters and reduces the risk of emergency situations. The module automatically calculates the permissible load weight depending on the reach and angle of the boom. Operating parameters are recorded in a non-volatile metering unit.

  • drive on a crane with the rear suspension locked.


Hydraulic truck crane KS-3577-2 with a lifting capacity of 12.5 T, equipped with a telescopic boom with a rigid suspension, has been produced since 1988 at the Ivanovo Automobile Crane Plant.
The crane is mounted on a biaxial chassis of a MAZ-5337 vehicle and is intended for loading and unloading, construction and installation work in various sectors of the national economy.
The use of a trapezoidal support contour made it possible to increase both the maximum lifting capacity of the crane and the lifting capacity in the operating radius range compared to the same characteristics of the KS-3571 crane.

KS 3577 is a specialized light-class loading mechanism mounted on a biaxial chassis of a Belarusian truck of the same name. The equipment is adapted for moving any heavy loads, including reinforced concrete products, metal constructions timber and other large objects. The truck crane is equipped with a trapezoidal support contour, due to which the already considerable lifting capacity for this class was increased.

The rotation of the rotary mechanism is carried out due to hydraulic drive, which works due to the torque generated by the car power plant. In this case, the torque enters the drive through a manual gearbox and is regulated by the power take-off. The pump can be manually turned on or off using a lever located in the driver's cab.

The telescopic two-section boom is an integral element of the crane installation. One boom is a fixed type, and the second is a movable one. The last (movable) boom extends to a height of up to 6 m using two hydraulic cylinders connected to each other by couplings. To increase the under-boom space and the lifting height of the hook suspension, the design includes a so-called lattice jib, which allows you to lengthen the height of the boom, and thereby expand the working area. The jib is in addition to the main boom and can be transported on a crane. For safety purposes, during transportation the jib is secured with a special clamp near the boom. For more convenient and quick extension of the jib, a lattice insert with brackets is provided, with the help of which the boom is connected to the jib. The boom mechanism is designed in such a way as to be able to move the load not only in the horizontal, but also in the vertical plane.

The cargo winch is another integral component of the KS 3577 crane installation. It includes a hydraulic motor, a two-stage cylinder-type gearbox, a drum, and a drum-type band brake with a hydraulic contactor. For a more reliable connection of the turntable with the frame, a single-row roller slewing ring with internal clutch is used.

The multifunctional operator’s cabin, installed on the rotating platform of the crane installation, deserves special attention. The inside of the driver's area is decorated with decorative plastic material with a vibration-isolating effect. The list of basic equipment includes windshield wipers, outward-opening windows, a ventilation system, an auxiliary heater, a lamp, sun visors, and full-size first aid kits and documentation.

It is noteworthy that a voltage of 24 V is sufficient to power all electronic equipment of the truck crane. The equipment is presented in the form of alarms and lighting, as well as safety devices and measuring sensors. Information from these sensors is processed in the central processor and then digitally displayed on the central display located in the operator's cab. The devices monitor the relay box, alarm panel, boom load and lifting capacity. In the event of an abnormality (for example, when the permissible load is exceeded, a drop in oil pressure or overheating, or when it comes into contact with a power line), a safety system is activated that prevents damage to the crane or the operator.
