Is it possible to play mafia. Rules for playing sports mafia with a host

Professional rules for playing Mafia

Ten people participate in the game. The facilitator oversees the course of the game and regulates its stages.

To determine the roles, the facilitator distributes cards face down: one to each player. There are 10 cards in a deck: 7 red cards and 3 black cards. "Reds" are civilians, and "Blacks" are mafiosi.

One of the 7 red cards differs from the rest - it is the card of the Sheriff - the leader of the "Reds". "Blacks" also have their own leader - the Don card.

The game is divided into alternating stages of two types: day and night.

Purpose of the game: Blacks must eliminate Reds and vice versa.

Ten players are seated at the game table. The host announces "night" and all players put on masks. After that, in turn, each player removes the mask, selects a card, remembers it, the leader removes the card and the player puts on the mask.

Participants in bandages tilt their heads down so that the movements of neighbors or the play of shadows do not become a source of additional information for them.

The host announces: "The mafia is waking up." Participants who have received black cards, including the Mafia Don, remove their bandages and get to know each other and the Host. This is the first and only night when the mafiosi open their eyes all together. It was given to them in order to agree with gestures on the procedure for eliminating the "Reds". The “agreement” should be carried out quietly so that the “Red” players sitting next to them do not feel the movements. The host announces: "The mafia is falling asleep." After these words, "Black" players put on armbands.

The host announces: "Don is waking up." Don opens his eyes and the Host gets acquainted with Don. On subsequent nights, Don will wake up in order to find the Sheriff of the game. Host: "Don is falling asleep." Don puts on a bandage.

Host: "The Sheriff is waking up." The Sheriff wakes up and meets the Leader. On subsequent nights, the Sheriff will be able to wake up and look for the "Blacks". Host: "The Sheriff falls asleep."

Host: Good morning! Everyone is waking up."

First day. Everyone takes off their bandages. During the day there is discussion. According to the professional rules of the Mafia game, each player is given one minute to express their ideas, thoughts and suspicions.

The Reds must identify the Black players and take them out of the game. And the "Blacks" will provide themselves with an alibi and remove a sufficient number of "Red" players from the game. "Blacks" are in a better position, because they know "who is who."

The discussion begins with the player number one and then around the circle. During the day's discussion, players can nominate players (no more than one per player) with the aim of removing them from the game. At the end of the discussion, the candidates are voted on. The candidate with the most votes is eliminated from the game.

If only one candidate is nominated for the first round (Day), it shall not be voted. During the following circles (Days), any number of candidates are voted. The player who left the game has the right to the last word (duration - 1 minute).

The game has the term "Car Crash". This is a situation in which two or more players get the same number of votes. In this case, the voters are given the right to justify themselves within 30 seconds, convince the players of their “redness” and stay in the game. There is a vote. If someone gets more votes, he is out. If the players again gain an equal number of votes, then the question is put to the vote: “Who is in favor of all the voters leaving the game?”. If the majority votes for elimination, the players leave the game, if against - they stay, if the votes are evenly divided, the players remain in the game.

After the first round, night falls again. During this and the following nights, the mafia has the opportunity to "shoot" (a gesture specified at the beginning of the game). The “shooting” takes place as follows: the mafiosi, who agreed on the order of eliminating the “Reds” on the first night, “shoot” (with their eyes closed!) in the following nights.

The host, after the words “mafia goes hunting,” announces the numbers of the players in turn, and if all the mafiosi shoot at this number at the same time, then the object is hit. According to the rules of the game Mafia If one of the members of the mafia “shoots” at another number, or does not “shoot” at all, the Leader fixes a miss. "Shooting" occurs by imitation of a shot with fingers. The host announces: "The mafia is falling asleep."

Then the Host announces: "Don is waking up." Don wakes up and tries to find the Sheriff of the game. He shows on the fingers of the Leader any number, behind which, in his opinion, the Sheriff is hiding. The presenter with a nod of the head either confirms his version or denies it. Don falls asleep.

The Sheriff wakes up. He is also entitled to night checks. He is looking for "Black" players. After the Leader's answer, the Sheriff falls asleep, and the Leader announces the start of the second day.

If the mafia eliminated the player at night, the Host announces this and gives the last word to the victim. If the mafia missed, the Host announces that the morning is really good, and no one was hurt at night.

The discussion of the second day begins with the next, after the player who spoke first in the previous round.

During this and the next rounds, everything happens similarly to the first day. Nights and days alternate until one or another team wins.

The game ends with the victory of the "Reds" in the event that all the "Black" players are eliminated. "Blacks" win when there is an equal number of "Reds" and "Blacks".

The subtleties of the rules of the game in the mafia:

1. The player is obliged to draw his game number.

2. The player does not have the right to swear, bet, or appeal to any religion, swear, insult the players. For this, the Host removes the offending player from the game.

3. The player is not allowed to say the word "Honestly" or "I swear" in any form. For this violation, the player receives a warning.

4. The player does not have the right to deliberately peep "at night". If this violation is detected, the player is removed from the game, and is usually deprived of the opportunity to visit the Club for a long time. In case of involuntary peeping, the player is removed from the game.

5. The player has the right to nominate only one candidate.

6. The player has the right to withdraw his candidacy as part of his speech.

8. When voting, the player must touch the table with his hand and keep it on the table until the end of voting. The end of the voting coincides with the word of the Host "Thank you". A vote placed after the word "Thank you", or together with the word "Thank you", is not accepted. The leader counts the vote only if the hand touches the table.

11. The "black" player has the right to "shoot" only once. "Shot" is considered effective only in this case. In all other cases (player does not “shoot”, “shoots” twice) the Leader registers a miss. A miss is also recorded if the player "shoots" between the called Lead numbers.

12. The "Red" player at night does not have the right to show signs to the Sheriff whom to check. For this violation, the player is removed from the game.

13. The “black” player at night does not have the right to show signs to Don whom to check. For this violation, the player is removed from the game.

14. The player does not have the right to sing, dance, hit the table, speak and perform other actions that are not included in the "night" behavior of the players. For this violation, the player receives a warning from the host.

15. Don and Sheriff are unable to check in the first night.

16. Don and Sheriff at night have the right to check no more than one player each.

17. The player has no right to speak out of turn. For this violation, he receives a warning from the Host.

18. The player has the right to speak during the daytime discussion for no more than 1 minute. For non-compliance with the rules, the player receives a warning.

19. During the "Car Crash" the player has the right to speak for 30 seconds. For non-compliance with the rules, the player receives a warning.

20. After the Leader’s phrase “Night is falling”, the player must immediately put on a bandage. In case of delay, the player receives a warning.

21. The host has the right to give warnings for: a) unethical behavior, b) excessive gestures that interfere with the game or distract the players, c) other violations, the degree of which is determined by the host.

22. If a player uses profanity, “inhumane” and “obscene” behavior of a player at the gaming table (including due to the player’s excessively “alcoholic-jolly” state!) or insulting another player, the player may be removed from the game at the discretion of the Leader.

23. According to the professional rules of the Mafia game, a player who has received three warnings loses a word for one round. If a player receives a third warning after his performance on a lap, he will be forfeited for the next lap.

24. The player who receives the fourth warning is removed from the game.

25. A player who has filed a protest before the end of the game is removed from the game.

26. The rules of the mafia game provide that a protest can be accepted for consideration by the Leader only after the end of the game.

27. The game is annulled, its result is changed or replayed if the protesting team (in full) + one player from among the opponents votes for the protest.

28. A player who has left the game immediately leaves the game table.

29. With any removal from the game, the player does not have the right to the last word.

Mafia. Card game.
Mafia - command psychological turn-based role-playing game with a detective story.
Plot: The inhabitants of the city, exhausted from the revelry of the mafia, make a decision to imprison all the mafiosi to the last. In response, the mafia declares war until the complete destruction of all decent citizens.

Rules of the game

To play you will need special cards. You can also play with a regular deck if you agree in advance which pictures - what they will mean. In a simplified (classic) game, you will need mafia cards and civilians - townspeople. In more detailed versions of the game, there may be other characters, such as a commissioner, a doctor, a fallen woman (lover), a sheriff, a maniac, a lawyer ...

  • Before the start of the game, players are dealt cards face down. It is then that it is determined who will play for whom. There are exactly as many cards in the deck as there are players in the game. The host of the game is determined either also with the help of a card, or a person who wishes is chosen in advance.

You can print these cards for free on our website.

  • When opening your card, it is advisable not to show emotions. Very often, novice players are overjoyed when they see that they are a mafia - it becomes very easy to identify them. More correctly, look at the card and immediately put it in your pocket or on the table with your shirt up, so that no one sees.

Characters

Civilians (Citizens)- they play only “in the daytime”, they can execute one of the players at this time of the day. Until the end of the game, they do not know which player is playing for whom.
Mafia- during the day they pretend to be civilians, at night they kill the smartest citizen. All Mafiosi know each other.
Mistress (Fallen Woman, Girl)- plays for civilians, at night he can save one of the players by spending the night with him.
Doctor (Doctor)- plays for civilians, heals the sick at night, does not know for sure which player plays for whom, so he can save the mafia from death.
Commissioner (Detective, Sheriff)- Plays for civilians, at night he tries to kill the mafia on his own. If it hits a citizen, the leader informs everyone that the commissioner missed. If he shoots at night and hits the mafia, the host declares one of the mafia killed.

Game plan

The host announces the first day of the game.

The first day.

The players get to know each other. You can invent fictitious names and professions for yourself. On the first day, we can already draw some conclusions from the behavior of the players.
Poorly hidden joy, displeasure, ostentatious calm - all this can be the key to unraveling who the mafia really is. But no discussions are allowed on this day.

First night.

The host says: “Night has come.”
After the announcement by the hosts of the night, the players close their eyes or put on special masks.
The host says: "The mafia woke up."
After these words, the players who got the "mafia" cards open their eyes and greet each other. This should be done very carefully, as any movement can give players away.
The host announces: "The mafia fell asleep."
"Mafia" closes his eyes.

Second day.

The host announces: “The day has come. All the inhabitants of the city woke up
Civilians wake up and decide which of them is the mafia. Mafiosi also take part in the discussion, posing as civilians and trying to transfer suspicion to innocent players. Several suspects are selected, one of which is executed as a result, and the player is eliminated from the game by showing his card before dying.

Night two.

Sample plan for the night: Mistress, Mafia, Doctor, Commissar - everyone wakes up and falls asleep in turn, doing their nightly business.

It looks something like this:
The host announces: “Night has come. all the inhabitants fall asleep"
If you are playing with the “Fallen Woman” card, then the leader announces it first.
Leading: "The mistress wakes up." The mistress must choose the player with whom she will spend the night, and therefore, whom the mafia cannot kill.
Host: "The mafia is waking up." The mafia opens its eyes. That night they must get rid of the most intelligent and dangerous civilian. Maintaining complete silence, the mafiosi, after conferring, choose the first victim and point to him with gestures to the host.
Host: “The mafia killed a man. The Mafia is asleep."
Host: "The doctor is waking up." The player with the doctor card wakes up and shows the host to the player he wants to cure - save from death.
Host: "The doctor falls asleep."
Host: "Commissar is waking up." The player with the commissar card opens his eyes and points to the supposed player, who he assumes is the real mafia.
Host: "The commissar shoots and misses because he is aiming at a civilian." (If the commissioner had pointed to the Mafia, the host would have announced the death of the mafia.)
Moderator: Everyone falls asleep.

Day three.

Host: "The third day has come. Everyone wakes up. The mafia killed Vasya Pupkin. The doctor cured Petya Sidorov, who was already healthy” or “The mafia tried to kill a civilian, but the doctor cured him.”
The players again continue to find out and discuss who turned onto the dark path and is the mafia. At the end of the day, a verdict is issued and one player is executed.

This continues day after day until one of the camps wins.

Mafia intellectual game has many different forms and variations. Most people played in the "home-grown" mafia, where there are no special regulations. In this article, we will shed light on how to play the mafia according to the so-called "classic" rules.

What are the features of the "classic" rules of the game in the Mafia?

In short, the essence is the simplicity of the rules. Everything is simplified and regulated. In more detail, here are the key features:

1) Exactly 10 people participate in the game: no more no less.

2) There are only two teams in the game: blacks (mafia) and reds (civilians).

There are only 3 mafias, including the mafia boss, who is usually called Don. There are only 7 civilians, including the Sheriff.

3) No other roles in the spirit of a maniac, a doctor, a prostitute and the like are not in the game. Only those roles listed above.

4) The roles of killed players are not revealed. That is, the host announces all the roles of the players only when the game is over.

5) In the afternoon, each of the players has one minute for a monologue. That is, the players speak one after the other, in turn. Everyone is not allowed to speak together. If someone pronounces at least one word out of turn, they receive a warning.

6) There are warnings in the game. For 3 warnings, the player is told that they will not be able to give a speech at their next opportunity. Simply put, the player will lose the word on the next circle. For the fourth warning, the player is disqualified from the game.

7) The mafia shoots civilians at night with their eyes closed.

How does this happen? It's simple: at the very beginning of the game, on zero night, the mafia wakes up in full force and agrees on a strategy for the game. Usually the Mafia Don is just gestures indicates in what order blacks will kill civilians. For example, on the 1st night, the mafia will bring out player 5, on the second - 6, on the third - 9. After the zero night, the first introductory day of the game occurs, on which, usually, no one is excluded from the game. When the first night of the game comes, the leader loudly and clearly starts counting the players from 1 to 10. The entire mafia team, sitting with their eyes closed, must simultaneously make a special gesture on player number 5 (after all, it was player five in our example who was ordered as a victim on the first night). In this case, player 5 will be considered killed. If, during the countdown of the host, one of the blacks makes a special gesture on a different number of the player on which the other mafiosi did, then the player will not be considered killed. That is, the mafia will miss, and no one will be killed.

8.) After shooting down the mafia, Don and Sheriff take turns looking for their opponents.

Note that neither Don nor Sheriff kill anyone. It's just that the presenter declares: "Don of the mafia wakes up and shows the number of the player whom he considers the Sheriff." Don, of course, obediently fulfills the host's request. If found, then the presenter with a nod makes it clear that, they say, "yes, this player is still the Sheriff." The Sheriff then wakes up and looks for the blacks (i.e. the mafia). Note that the sheriff is looking for ALL the mafia, not just Don. That is, the Sheriff does the same as Don, showing the number of a player. And the presenter in the same way with a nod makes it clear to the Sheriff whether that player is a mafia or not.

9) When morning comes, the floor is given to the killed player.

That is, even if the mafia shot the player 1 at night, he will still speak when the morning comes. Think of it as a "voicing" of a suicide note, or the testimony of a dying witness - whatever. But all players have their final say before they leave the table.

10) If a player has left the game, then you need to get up from the table and step aside.

This is also a pretty important feature. The person who has been taken out of the game must step aside and become a mute spectator with a poker face. If the player remains at the table, then he has the impression that he is still playing. Because of this, the player will participate in the game with facial expressions and gestures and may unwittingly harm the opposing team.

The host announces: "Who is against player number 9 - vote!". And the players have 2 seconds (no more) to put their hand with the “OK” gesture (fist with thumb up) on the table. After 2 seconds, the host says "Thank you", which means the end of voting against this player. If someone puts a vote after the word "Thank you", then the vote will not be counted. However, players whose votes were not counted are eligible to participate in further voting.

To many, these rules at the beginning, for whatever reason, seem not interesting enough. Often, newcomers, coming to play mafia in English at the English Mafia Club, say something along the lines of: “Why is it so hard for the mafia to shoot when you can just wake up every night?” or "Why don't they announce the roles of the players when they are out of the game?" or “Why not a maniac and a doctor?”. Usually, all these are questions from players with little experience in the Mafia intellectual game.

Only "classic" contributes to the greatest number of different strategies. No other rules of the Mafia game can guarantee such a strong development of logical thinking. Therefore, if you want to not only have a good time playing the mafia, but also increase your ability to think logically and strategically, calculating the actions of people and groups a few steps ahead, then play the "classic"!

Mafia game rules. How to play mafia. Characters

The rules of the mafia game in our club Moscow are "urban"

The Mafia game, although far from new, has by no means lost its attractiveness and sharpness, so there is simply nothing better for a pleasant and fun pastime with friends or family!

The rules of the game are quite simple, and it is best for beginners to delve into them in the process, but for those who play Mafia for the first time, we will be happy to dedicate it to its essence.

General concepts of the game in the Mafia. Characters

So, the most important nuance is that although the presence of cards is mandatory in the Mafia, this is not a card game. With the help of cards, only the roles of each of the participants are determined. Now let's get started:

  1. Participants are divided into two teams, between which the struggle takes place:
  • on the "red" - civilians, which include:

Ordinary citizens of the city;

Commissioner or Sheriff;

A maniac, if suddenly he gets into the "red" team.

  • and "black" - the mafia:

Mafia leader, Don;

Subordinates, henchmen of the Don.

The game is designed for 11 people, of which 3 members of the Mafia (including Don), 5 Civilians, 1 Maniac, 1 Commissar and 1 Doctor.

The mafia game involves two phases:

  1. Daytime.
  2. Night.

During the day the Mafia sleeps, civilians are awake, at night - on the contrary. Civilians are sleeping, they should not know who is who in this game, but the Mafia and Don wake up, as well as the Commissar, Maniac and Doctor or Doctor. The task of the Mafia is to eliminate civilians, thereby gaining a numerical advantage. You can eliminate the inhabitants either at night, "killing" them, or during the day, by voting.

Game ends:

  • the victory of the Mafia, if there are as many civilians at the table as there are members of the Mafia;
  • the victory of Civilians - if all the mafiosi are destroyed to one.

How to play mafia

The game starts with the night phase.

The city is sleeping, everyone is covering their faces with masks (after all, you remember, civilians should never guess who plays what role). The mafia leader distributes the cards face down and wakes each of the participants in turn to familiarize themselves with the role. You can also choose a map yourself.

When the cards are dealt, the Host says the phrase: “The mafia is waking up!”, After which Don and his henchmen should “wake up”. Further, the Host asks Don to identify himself - after this phrase, Don should only show himself to his “subordinates” with signs.

After the awakening of the Mafia, the Sheriff's turn comes (the Host says the standard phrase: "The Sheriff wakes up"), then the Maniac's turn comes.

As for the Maniac - if there are more than 10 players, the Maniac has the right to self-determination. Namely, he himself decides which team to play for, for the Reds or the Blacks. If he plays for the Mafia, the mafia becomes more by one participant, but at the same time, the Maniac does not know the mafia “by sight”, and always “wakes up” separately. Thus, when the Host wakes up the Maniac, he asks him the question: “Maniac for civilians?”. Maniac expresses consent or disagreement with a characteristic movement of the head, without uttering a word.

After the Maniac wakes up, the presenter wakes up the Doctor.

Moreover, each, having familiarized himself with his role, “falls asleep” again.

This was the end of the first night. Its purpose is the distribution of leading roles between the participants of the game and the acquaintance of the Leader with them. Everyone who did not get one of the above described roles is civilians who continue to sleep.

The host “wakes up” the city with the words: “ Good morning! The city is waking up!", after which all the characters take off their masks. Then everyone should introduce themselves. The presentation begins with the Facilitator's phrase: "We are discussing player number 1", pointing to the participant. The participant, in turn, must say "red" he or "black", without naming his role. At the same time, the task of the Maniac and all the mafiosi is to disguise themselves, that is, not to give out that they are "black", in particular, the positive participants - the Commissar, the Doctor and the Maniac, should not guess about the real "hands" if he chose the side of civilians. They, in turn, should not be “lit up” in front of the Mafia, otherwise they will be quickly “removed”.

The presentation takes no more than a minute, and each player can write any story about himself, for example, what kind of work he does in the city.

After the daytime phase of the introduction and acquaintance, the night comes again, which is announced by the Host, saying the phrase: “The city is falling asleep!”

Night two.

  1. The host wakes up the mafiosi, including Don. The awakened mafia proceeds to select a victim, pointing fingers at it to the host or showing the number of the player who became the target. If there is disagreement in the ranks of the Mafia regarding the candidate for the role of the victim, the decisive word remains with the Don, since he can know which of the players is the Commissar. How he learned this information, we will tell further.
  1. Ordinary mafiosi fall asleep, but Don is awake. He searches for the Commissioner, relying on his own intuition and assumptions, for confirmation, Don points his finger at the suspect. If Don is right and this player is actually the Commissioner, the Host should nod in the affirmative, if not, then nod.
  1. Mafia and Don sleep, the Commissar wakes up, who must find the mafia. The sheriff player has the right to one “shot” or he can check the participant whom he suspects of involvement in the mafia clan by pointing him out to the Host. The facilitator, depending on the real state of affairs, should either positively or negatively nod or shake his head. If the Commissar decides to "shoot", he must show a bent index finger as if he is pulling the trigger, and then with his fingers indicate the number of the victim player.

ATTENTION! How to play mafia sheriff.

  • you should not shoot without checking, since the suspect may turn out to be an ordinary citizen, therefore it is better to check on the first night, and shoot on the next;
  • if the Commissar hits a Maniac player, the result of the check will be negative, even if this participant plays for the “black”
  1. The sheriff fell asleep. Maniac's awakening time. According to the rules, he must shoot at any participant, showing him to the Leader. Here events develop in two directions:
  • if the Maniac is a positive participant, his shot must be directed at one of the mafiosi, whom the Maniac can choose, guided only by his own guesses, there is no check;
  • if the Maniac is "black", then he must "remove" someone peaceful without getting into the mafia.
  1. Everyone is sleeping again. The Doctor wakes up. Its function is to treat wounded participants, of which there can be a maximum of three (if the mafia, Maniac and Commissar shot at night). The leader points out the wounded to the doctor, and the doctor, since he is for civilians, according to his suspicions, chooses from the wounded whom he will save. During the night, only one of the wounded can become such a lucky one, if he is shot at for the second time in a game, he no longer has a chance to survive. This also applies to the Doctor. Moreover, when an already saved participant is chosen as a target for the second time, the Leading with a gesture, crossing his arms, makes it clear that the participant can no longer be saved.

ATTENTION! How to play mafia doctor or doctor.

  • if they shot twice during the night and in the morning the residents of the city find out that mafiosi have been killed, the one whom the Doctor saves is no longer “black”, this is very important for the townspeople, and the Doctor reports this;
  1. The leader wakes up the city. The players "wake up" and take off their masks. Then the Host reports on the dead at night. The numbers of participants named by the Host must leave the game table. If the deceased is a doctor, a city dweller, or a maniac playing in the "red" team, he delivers a farewell speech, in which there may be suspicions regarding other participants, denunciation of the mafiosi and proposals for holding a vote against the most suspicious of the players. If the "killed" is a Commissar, a mobster or a maniac playing for the "black" team, he does not have the right to a farewell speech.
  1. Discussion. During the day phase, participants express their suspicions in order to quickly identify the Mafia and put up for a vote the names of the most suspicious members of the opposing team. The mafia, in turn, pretending to be ordinary citizens, is trying to vote and denigrate a civilian. While the main circle is going on, each of the participants has the right to an additional word, which can be voiced after passing the main circle. Also, while making a speech, the player can ask a question to one of the participants by saying the phrase: “Question to participant No. ...”, to interrupt the answer to the question, it is enough to say: “Thank you”.
  1. After the discussion, the townspeople start voting, as for civilians this is the only way to defeat the mafiosi. Voting goes like this:
  • The host says the number of the participant for whom you are voting, but you, until the moment when the host says “thank you”, must put your hand on the table with your thumb up, if you do not have time, the vote does not count and you will have to vote for another participant;
  • member who has large quantity votes, has the right to a justification speech (takes no more than a minute), after which a second vote is possible, if the vote is again not in favor of this participant, he is forced to leave the game, revealing his card.

If that player is a citizen, a Doctor, or a good Maniac, he delivers his farewell speech (as in the case of "murder"), the members of the mafia clan, the Commissar, and the black Maniac leave the game in silence.

If, according to the voting results, both participants have the same number of votes, they have the right to justify, after which the vote is again held. The one with the most votes leaves. If again both of the same contestants get the same number of votes, it's a "Car Crash" followed by a third vote for both players to either leave the game or stay. They do not take part in voting.

  1. Night falls again and everyone falls asleep. Actions are repeated from the beginning (see section "Night Two" p. 1). This happens until one of the teams wins: the “reds” win if the last member of the Mafia or the “black” Maniac leaves the game, the “blacks” win if the number of townspeople is equal to the number of the Mafia. If the Mafia is all out, but the black Maniac remains in the game, they play until he leaves the table.

How to play the game.

In our club, everything is built on mutual respect for each other, therefore:

  • everyone says when he is given the floor, without interrupting others or wedging in at the wrong time, which participant should speak, the Host determines;
  • one participant speaks - others listen to him, no one makes noise, and they do not all speak together, arranging a "bazaar";
  • the performance time of each is limited - 1 min., and is controlled by the Leader, who in 10 seconds. before the expiration of the allotted minute, warns: "Time". The speaker should indicate the end of the speech by saying "Thank you."
  • it is forbidden to use obscene language, and phrases that can be regarded as an insult by other players, for which the guilty participant receives a remark or leaves the game;
  • it is forbidden to use the words: “100%”, “I swear”, as well as to mention God, the Devil in any form, otherwise the offender receives a remark;
  • a remark is received by a participant who began to speak out at the wrong time, at the same time as another participant or at night when everyone should sleep.

So, 3 comments - and you are deprived of a word in the discussion, 4 comments - you are out of the game.

Also, the administration of our club has the right to remove from the club a member who causes inconvenience to other members of the club by his behavior, as well as for other reasons incompatible with the rules of the club.

All of the above regulations and rules are classics, but at the discretion of the Host, as well as depending on the age, number of participants and for other reasons, they can be adjusted.

That's all about the rules and essence of the mafia game. Now you know how to play mafia, you can join an exciting game that will not leave you indifferent. And don't forget to invite your friends!

If you often meet with friends and do not know what to do, then try playing the exciting and exciting Mafia game. Its rules are very simple, but there are some tricks to help you win.

How did this game come about?

The history of the Mafia game, according to researchers, goes back to 1986. Surprisingly, Dmitry Davydov, a Soviet student at the Faculty of Psychology of Moscow State University, came up with it.

At first, the games were held exclusively in university dormitories, but then, when students began to disperse around different countries for post-graduate professional education, they spread throughout Europe, and then they learned about the "Mafia" in other parts of the world.

And now, today it is one of the most popular, and entire tournaments are organized, which are broadcast on television.

What will be required?

To play the "Mafia" in the company of friends, you will need a deck of cards (regular or special, having all the symbols) and the players themselves. The optimal number of participants is eight people, but there may well be more.

If among friends there are those whose honesty you doubt, then you will also need masks that do not let the light through, for example, for sleeping. Then everyone will be sure that no one will spy on anyone.

The essence of the game

The rules of the game "Mafia" are very simple. All players are divided into several categories, the most basic of which are civilians and the mafia. There are also some other characters in the game, and each of them performs its own specific functions. But in the end, either mafiosi or civilians should win.

Roles

In different variations of the game "Mafia" there may be different roles. In the very simple version there are only two categories: civilians and the mafia. You will also need a presenter who will comment on the course of the game, monitor the implementation of its rules, and also announce intermediate and final results.

So, the roles can be as follows:

  • Civilians. In fact, they do not perform any function. Their main task is to find out who is the mafia and kills innocent townspeople.
  • The mafia is the most important villains who kill civilians at night. Mafiosi can be two, three or even more, depending on the total number of players.
  • The doctor can heal townspeople killed by the mafia.
  • Putana or Fallen Woman is an auxiliary character. This player spends the night with one of the participants in the game and thereby saves him from death if mafiosi attempt on him.
  • The Commissioner or Policeman keeps order and can arrest murder suspects.
  • Also in some versions there is a maniac. He can take the side of both civilians and the mafia, or just play for himself and protect his own interests. At night, he strangles people, after which they cannot speak, but communicate with the help of gestures.

Game process

So how do you learn to play? Everything is pretty simple. The entire gameplay is divided into two main phases: day and night. At night, all players complete their main tasks, and during the day, discussion begins.

The main stages of the game:

  1. First, all players draw cards and figure out what roles they will play. If ordinary cards are used, then sixes usually denote civilians, aces - the mafia. Kings can fit into the roles of Commissar and Doctor. Jack can be Maniac, and Queen - Confused. It is important that each player sees only his own card, otherwise the meaning of the game is lost.
  2. Then the first day begins. Players can come up with names for themselves, get to know each other, as well as evaluate each other's behavior and even draw the first conclusions (but they will not be taken into account).
  3. Then comes the first night. The mafia is waking up. They open their eyes, get acquainted and make a choice. On this, the first night ends, because the rest of the characters cannot yet guess who got what roles.
  4. Second day. The host announces who was killed by the mafia. Then a discussion begins, during which the suspects are identified, and the one chosen in the vote reveals his card and is automatically eliminated from the game.
  5. The second night will be interesting, as all the characters are activated. The host announces the participants in a certain order, and they perform their direct functions. First, the mafia does its "dirty deeds". Next, the Doctor enters the game, who treats the supposedly injured city dweller. Now Putana wakes up and decides with whom she will spend the night. Then it's the Commissar's turn, and he must imprison the one he suspects of the murders. And then a maniac may wake up, who will choose a victim and strangle her.
  6. Another day. The host announces the events that took place during the night. If the victim was rescued by the Doctor or Putana, his identity is not revealed. If Putana is killed, then her "client" automatically dies as well. If the Commissar made a mistake, then the host also should not say who he considered the killer, otherwise some cards will open. The killed person is eliminated from the game, then the discussion begins again. But the strangled person does not take part in it, or rather, does not speak, but only gesticulates.

The game continues until either all the mafiosi are killed, or the criminals outnumber the law-abiding townspeople.

The discussion can take place in different scenarios. The simplest is the general vote. That is, the players put forward their assumptions, consult with each other, explain their behavior or justify themselves if they are accused. Then everyone votes, and thus who is the mafia is decided.

Voting can also have some nuances. So, all players can vote in turn, while the host will take into account the votes. But candidates can also be nominated in turn, and then the calculation will be simpler.

Once the prime suspect has been identified, he can speak his mind. last word(this is not always allowed), and if someone changes their mind, they can change their vote. A candidate can be considered elected if a greater number of players or an absolute majority voted for him. Then he reveals the card and leaves, and the game continues on.

Subtleties and rules of etiquette

To make the game interesting, you need to consider some tips and rules:

  • If the players could not decide on the suspect, and the two candidates received an equal number of votes, then the discussion starts again, then the players vote only for the two candidates chosen in the first round.
  • You can only vote for one player.
  • It is forbidden to reveal your role, then the meaning of the game will be lost.
  • Eliminated players must silently and without emotion observe the course of the game, without betraying other participants.
  • It is desirable to remove all players from each other so that they do not touch and do not feel movements at night, this is often confusing.
  • Do not peep, then it will be simply uninteresting to play!
  • If, after the distribution of cards, one player has found out the role of the other, then the cards are re-dealt again.
  • You should not bet, swear, attract religious views or principles. Everyone must be on an equal footing.
  • During the game, keep a close eye on all players, ask incriminating questions and evaluate the answers to them and the reaction.
  • At night, all participants must be as quiet as possible, as any movement can attract attention and make others suspect not the guilty, but the noisiest players.
  • The leader, when addressing the players at night, should keep his head straight so that the participants cannot figure out the roles in the direction of his voice.
  • It is not the victory that is important, but the process itself, because it is exciting and interesting!
  • If you do not know how to lie, then try to behave as calmly as possible. You should probably practice.

Be sure to try playing Mafia in a fun company!
